Congratulations on booking your newborn photo session!
Thank you so much for allowing me the amazing and rewarding job of photographing your new little human in his/her first few weeks of life. Newborns are my passion and I consider myself truly blessed to be around these little miracles every single day.
What to expect from your newborn photo shoot
Newborn shoots ideally take place within 21 days of your baby being born. This ensures the perfect amount of time for baby to be sleepy which creates a better chance of getting those sleepy, curly poses that we all love!
Your newborn session will take approximately 2-3 hours in my cosy, refurbished studio in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
I have a large selection of props, wraps, headbands and colours for both little boys and little girls. There's no need for you to bring anything with you but I'm more than happy to incorporate your own items into the images to make them more personal if you wish.
Newborn Prep Guide for parents
Please try to keep baby awake for an hour leading up to the photo shoot, this will ensure they're nice and sleepy when you arrive at the studio. If you are able to sit in the back of the car on your journey to distract them please do so.
If you are bottle feeding, combi-feeding or expressing, please bring along plenty of milk for your baby - the shoots last a while and they get hungry. Bring more than you think you will need incase they are having a hungry day/growth spurt.
Bring plenty of nappies - I do have spares just in-case.
Please bring a dummy with you, even if you aren't using it much at home, as this can really help if baby gets fussy!
Please bring any sentimental items with you that you would like to incorporate.
I recommend wearing plain, neutral clothing with no words or images and minimal patterns if you wish to have family photos. The same goes for siblings.
Newborn shoots last 1-3 hours - the baby is the boss!
Newborn shoots typically take place during the morning - the is to ensure that baby is nice and sleepy having not slept the day away.
My studio is stocked with snacks and hots drinks, but if you have allergies or require dietary alternatives please make sure to bring your own.
